Project three was a powerful one. Everyone had incredible and moving topics. It was very cool to be able to learn so much about so many research questions. All my classmates were effective presenters and all taught me a lot. I would have to say that the presentation that I found to be the most effective was Gibson’s on e-gaming. I did not know anything about e-gaming or that you could win so much money doing it. He informed me that the prize pot for online gaming competitions is one of the largest. One specific online gaming competition yields a reward even larger than The Masters! Gaming is a way for people to let loose and take a break from work and stress but for some people it is much more. The people who compete in these e-gaming competitions do it as a job. They are professional athletes who practice hard and get large sums of money because of it. In fact, in 2020 “e-sports” could possibly be in the Olympics with many talented gamers competing. Gibson was very confident in his presentation and stood proudly at the front of the classroom. He spoke loudly and learned his information beforehand so he wasn’t reading off the screen. I could take some tips from him on confidence in a presentation and how to use my voice loudly to get my points across. Gibson did an incredible job and taught us all a lot about e-gaming and its exponential success.
